Chapter 7

1 WHEN the king dwelt in his house, and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies,

2 The king said to Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains.

3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in your heart; for the LORD is with you.

4 And it came to pass that very night, the word of the LORD came to Nathan, the prophet, saying.

5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus says the LORD, You shall not build me a house for me to dwell in;

6 Because I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, to this day, but I have moved in tents.

7 In all the places where I have walked with all the children of Israel, have I spoken to any of those whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why have you not built me a house of cedar?

8 Now therefore shall you say to my servant David, Thus says the LORD of hosts: I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep. to be the ruler over my people Israel;

9 And I have been with you wherever you went, and I have destroyed all your enemies from before you, and I will make for you a great name, like the name of the great men that are on the earth.

10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them and make them to dwell in their own place in peace and be disturbed no more; neither shall wicked men enslave them any more, as formerly.

11 From the day that I commanded you to be a judge over my people Israel, I have given you rest from all your enemies. Also the LORD declares to you that he will make you a house.

12 And when your days are fulfilled and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come out of your loins, and I will establish his kingdom.

13 He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

14 I will be like a father to him and he shall be like a son to me. If he commit folly, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the children of men;

15 But my mercy I will not take from him, as I took it from Saul who was king before you, and whom I put away from before me.

16 And your house and your kingdom shall be established for ever before me; your throne shall be established for ever.

17 According to all these words and according to all this vision, so did Nathan the prophet speak to David.

18 Then King David went in and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O LORD God? And what is my house, that thou hast elevated me to this place?

19 And is this yet a small thing in thy sight, O LORD God, that thou hast spoken also concerning thy servant's descendants for a great while to come? Is this for the guidance of men, O LORD God?

20 And what more can thy servant David say to thee? For thou knowest thy servant, O LORD God.

21 For thy word's sake and according to thine own heart hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them.

22 Therefore thou art great, O LORD God; for there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

23 And is there a nation on the earth like thy people Israel, whom God saved to be a people for himself and to make him a name and to do for him great and notable deeds upon the earth, as he had done in former days for thy people whom thou savedst for thyself out of Egypt, a people whose God thou art?

24 For thou hast established for thyself thy people Israel to be a people to thee for ever; and thou, O LORD, hast become their God.

25 And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house, confirm it for ever, and do as thou hast said.

26 And let thy name be magnified for ever, and let everything be as thou hast said, O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee for ever.

27 For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build you a house; therefore thy servant has purposed in his heart to pray this prayer before thee.

28 And now, O LORD God, thou art God and thy words are true, for thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant;

29 Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee; for thou, O LORD God, hast spoken it; and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.

1 После того как царь поселился в своем дворце и Господь дал ему покой от всех окружающих его врагов,

2 он сказал пророку Нафану: — Смотри, я живу во дворце из кедра, а Божий ковчег остается в шатре.

3 Нафан ответил царю: — Иди и делай все, что у тебя на сердце, потому что Господь с тобой.

4 В ту ночь к Нафану было слово Господа:

5 — Пойди и скажи Моему слуге Давиду: «Так говорит Господь: Разве ты — тот, кто построит Мне дом для Моего обитания?

6 Я не жил в доме с того дня, как вывел израильтян из Египта и до сегодняшнего дня, но странствовал в шатре и в скинии.

7 Где бы Я ни ходил со всеми израильтянами, разве Я говорил с каким-либо из их родов, которым Я повелел пасти Мой народ Израиля: „Почему вы не построили Мне дом из кедра?“»

8 Итак, скажи Моему слуге Давиду: «Так говорит Господь Сил: Я взял тебя, когда ты смотрел и ухаживал на пастбище за овцами, чтобы ты стал правителем Моего народа Израиля.

9 Я был с тобой, куда бы ты ни ходил, и сокрушил перед тобой всех твоих врагов. Я уподоблю твое имя именам великих людей земли.

10 Я устрою место для Своего народа, Израиля, и укореню его, чтобы ему иметь свой дом, и никто его больше не тревожил. Нечестивые больше не будут притеснять его, как прежде,

11 с того времени, как Я поставил судей над Своим народом, Израилем. Я также дам тебе покой от всех твоих врагов. Господь объявляет тебе, что Сам утвердит твой дом.

12 Когда твои дни завершатся и ты упокоишься со своими предками, Я возведу на престол твоего потомка, того, кто произойдет от тебя и упрочу его царство.

13 Он построит дом для Моего имени, и Я упрочу престол его царства навеки.

14 Я буду ему Отцом, и он будет Мне сыном. Когда он согрешит, Я накажу его розгой людской, ударами, наносимыми людьми.

15 Но Я не отниму от него Своей милости, как отнял ее от Саула, которого Я отверг ради тебя.

16 Твой дом и твое царство будут непоколебимы предо Мной вовеки; твой престол будет упрочен навеки».

17 Нафан пересказал Давиду все слова этого откровения.

18 Тогда царь Давид вошел, сел перед Господом и сказал: — Кто я, о Владыка Господи, и что такое моя семья, что Ты так возвеличил меня?

19 И словно этого не было достаточно в Твоих глазах, о Владыка Господи, Ты еще рассказал о будущем дома Твоего слуги. И это будет Закон для людей, о Владыка Господи.

20 Что еще может сказать Тебе Давид? Ведь Ты знаешь Твоего слугу, Владыка Господи!

21 Ради Твоего слова и по воле Своей Ты совершил это великое дело и открыл его Своему слуге.

22 Как Ты велик, Владыка Господи! Нет подобного Тебе и нет Бога, кроме Тебя, как слышали мы своими ушами.

23 И кто подобен народу Твоему, Израилю, единственному народу на земле, к которому приходил Бог, чтобы выкупить его и сделать Своим народом? Чтобы все узнали имя Твое, Ты совершил великие и ужасные дела, выкупив Свой народ из Египта и изгнав перед ним другие народы и их богов.

24 Ты сделал Израиль Своим собственным народом навеки, и Ты, Господи, стал его Богом.

25 И теперь, Господи Боже, пусть обещание, которое Ты дал о Своем слуге и его доме, утвердится навеки, и сделай, как Ты обещал.

26 Пусть возвеличится Твое имя вовеки, чтобы люди говорили: «Господь Сил — Бог над Израилем!» И дом Твоего слуги Давида утвердится пред Тобой.

27 О Господь Сил, Бог Израиля, Ты открыл это Своему слуге, говоря: «Я устрою тебе дом». Поэтому Твой слуга набрался смелости принести Тебе эту молитву.

28 О Владыка Господи, Ты — Бог! Твои слова истинны, и Ты обещал Своему слуге это благо.

29 Пусть же станет Тебе угодно благословлять дом Твоего слуги, чтобы он был перед Тобой вечно. Ведь Ты, Владыка Господи, сказал это, и дом Твоего слуги будет благословен навеки от Твоего благословения!

1 WHEN the king dwelt in his house, and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies,

1 После того как царь поселился в своем дворце и Господь дал ему покой от всех окружающих его врагов,

2 The king said to Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains.

2 он сказал пророку Нафану: — Смотри, я живу во дворце из кедра, а Божий ковчег остается в шатре.

3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in your heart; for the LORD is with you.

3 Нафан ответил царю: — Иди и делай все, что у тебя на сердце, потому что Господь с тобой.

4 And it came to pass that very night, the word of the LORD came to Nathan, the prophet, saying.

4 В ту ночь к Нафану было слово Господа:

5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus says the LORD, You shall not build me a house for me to dwell in;

5 — Пойди и скажи Моему слуге Давиду: «Так говорит Господь: Разве ты — тот, кто построит Мне дом для Моего обитания?

6 Because I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, to this day, but I have moved in tents.

6 Я не жил в доме с того дня, как вывел израильтян из Египта и до сегодняшнего дня, но странствовал в шатре и в скинии.

7 In all the places where I have walked with all the children of Israel, have I spoken to any of those whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why have you not built me a house of cedar?

7 Где бы Я ни ходил со всеми израильтянами, разве Я говорил с каким-либо из их родов, которым Я повелел пасти Мой народ Израиля: „Почему вы не построили Мне дом из кедра?“»

8 Now therefore shall you say to my servant David, Thus says the LORD of hosts: I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep. to be the ruler over my people Israel;

8 Итак, скажи Моему слуге Давиду: «Так говорит Господь Сил: Я взял тебя, когда ты смотрел и ухаживал на пастбище за овцами, чтобы ты стал правителем Моего народа Израиля.

9 And I have been with you wherever you went, and I have destroyed all your enemies from before you, and I will make for you a great name, like the name of the great men that are on the earth.

9 Я был с тобой, куда бы ты ни ходил, и сокрушил перед тобой всех твоих врагов. Я уподоблю твое имя именам великих людей земли.

10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them and make them to dwell in their own place in peace and be disturbed no more; neither shall wicked men enslave them any more, as formerly.

10 Я устрою место для Своего народа, Израиля, и укореню его, чтобы ему иметь свой дом, и никто его больше не тревожил. Нечестивые больше не будут притеснять его, как прежде,

11 From the day that I commanded you to be a judge over my people Israel, I have given you rest from all your enemies. Also the LORD declares to you that he will make you a house.

11 с того времени, как Я поставил судей над Своим народом, Израилем. Я также дам тебе покой от всех твоих врагов. Господь объявляет тебе, что Сам утвердит твой дом.

12 And when your days are fulfilled and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come out of your loins, and I will establish his kingdom.

12 Когда твои дни завершатся и ты упокоишься со своими предками, Я возведу на престол твоего потомка, того, кто произойдет от тебя и упрочу его царство.

13 He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

13 Он построит дом для Моего имени, и Я упрочу престол его царства навеки.

14 I will be like a father to him and he shall be like a son to me. If he commit folly, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the children of men;

14 Я буду ему Отцом, и он будет Мне сыном. Когда он согрешит, Я накажу его розгой людской, ударами, наносимыми людьми.

15 But my mercy I will not take from him, as I took it from Saul who was king before you, and whom I put away from before me.

15 Но Я не отниму от него Своей милости, как отнял ее от Саула, которого Я отверг ради тебя.

16 And your house and your kingdom shall be established for ever before me; your throne shall be established for ever.

16 Твой дом и твое царство будут непоколебимы предо Мной вовеки; твой престол будет упрочен навеки».

17 According to all these words and according to all this vision, so did Nathan the prophet speak to David.

17 Нафан пересказал Давиду все слова этого откровения.

18 Then King David went in and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O LORD God? And what is my house, that thou hast elevated me to this place?

18 Тогда царь Давид вошел, сел перед Господом и сказал: — Кто я, о Владыка Господи, и что такое моя семья, что Ты так возвеличил меня?

19 And is this yet a small thing in thy sight, O LORD God, that thou hast spoken also concerning thy servant's descendants for a great while to come? Is this for the guidance of men, O LORD God?

19 И словно этого не было достаточно в Твоих глазах, о Владыка Господи, Ты еще рассказал о будущем дома Твоего слуги. И это будет Закон для людей, о Владыка Господи.

20 And what more can thy servant David say to thee? For thou knowest thy servant, O LORD God.

20 Что еще может сказать Тебе Давид? Ведь Ты знаешь Твоего слугу, Владыка Господи!

21 For thy word's sake and according to thine own heart hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them.

21 Ради Твоего слова и по воле Своей Ты совершил это великое дело и открыл его Своему слуге.

22 Therefore thou art great, O LORD God; for there is none like thee, neither is there any God besides thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

22 Как Ты велик, Владыка Господи! Нет подобного Тебе и нет Бога, кроме Тебя, как слышали мы своими ушами.

23 And is there a nation on the earth like thy people Israel, whom God saved to be a people for himself and to make him a name and to do for him great and notable deeds upon the earth, as he had done in former days for thy people whom thou savedst for thyself out of Egypt, a people whose God thou art?

23 И кто подобен народу Твоему, Израилю, единственному народу на земле, к которому приходил Бог, чтобы выкупить его и сделать Своим народом? Чтобы все узнали имя Твое, Ты совершил великие и ужасные дела, выкупив Свой народ из Египта и изгнав перед ним другие народы и их богов.

24 For thou hast established for thyself thy people Israel to be a people to thee for ever; and thou, O LORD, hast become their God.

24 Ты сделал Израиль Своим собственным народом навеки, и Ты, Господи, стал его Богом.

25 And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house, confirm it for ever, and do as thou hast said.

25 И теперь, Господи Боже, пусть обещание, которое Ты дал о Своем слуге и его доме, утвердится навеки, и сделай, как Ты обещал.

26 And let thy name be magnified for ever, and let everything be as thou hast said, O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee for ever.

26 Пусть возвеличится Твое имя вовеки, чтобы люди говорили: «Господь Сил — Бог над Израилем!» И дом Твоего слуги Давида утвердится пред Тобой.

27 For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build you a house; therefore thy servant has purposed in his heart to pray this prayer before thee.

27 О Господь Сил, Бог Израиля, Ты открыл это Своему слуге, говоря: «Я устрою тебе дом». Поэтому Твой слуга набрался смелости принести Тебе эту молитву.

28 And now, O LORD God, thou art God and thy words are true, for thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant;

28 О Владыка Господи, Ты — Бог! Твои слова истинны, и Ты обещал Своему слуге это благо.

29 Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee; for thou, O LORD God, hast spoken it; and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.

29 Пусть же станет Тебе угодно благословлять дом Твоего слуги, чтобы он был перед Тобой вечно. Ведь Ты, Владыка Господи, сказал это, и дом Твоего слуги будет благословен навеки от Твоего благословения!
